Elegía is a very characteristic piece of the most intimate and contemplative pieces that Josep Cervera-Bret wrote after 1940. Although the original manuscript does not specify the date or place of composition, we can conclude that it is a work of his artistic maturity.

With a sad, melancholic and pitiful appearance, it shows very intense explosions of passion, and very eloquently captures the essence of lament, which is what the piece itself wants to express. From the very moment the piano makes its declaration of intent in the introduction, the double bass part begins plaintively in the middle register of the instrument. However, very soon it climbs veritginously towards the very high registers, at which point Josep Cervera very sensibly shows and introduces the use of artificial harmonics while at the same time already drawing and pointing towards a sad ending.

After having contributed to the discovery and recovery of the 60 pieces that Cervera left at his family residence, Leon Bosch offers this edition for the first time for his interpretation through this edition under the imprint of "I Musicanti Publishing".
